General Information

The application process is now closed.  Check back  February 10th 2009 for details about applying for cohort 6.

Applicants for cohort 5 should be notified by June 20th, if not sooner.

Fellows participating in the AMATYC Project ACCCESS will gain knowledge of the culture and mission of the two-year-college and its students, acquire familiarity with the scholarship of teaching, commit to continued growth in mathematics, and participate actively in professional societies.

Fellows will attend two consecutive AMATYC national meetings where they will participate in a program developed particularly for new faculty, as well as in regular conference activities. In the intervening year, Fellows are required to attend an AMATYC Affiliate meeting, MAA Section meeting, or NCTM Regional meeting near their home institution.

For the duration of the project, an electronic network will link ACCCESS Fellows with each other and with a group of distinguished mathematics educators. As an integral part of their professional development during the Fellowship year, Fellows are expected to develop, implement, and evaluate a project at their home institution. In addition to learning and networking opportunities, Fellows will receive one-year memberships in  AMATYC for each year of their Fellowship.

Project Activities
New ACCCESS Fellows must be available to attend the following during their fellowship year:

* The AMATYC Conference in Washington, D.C., November 19-23, 2008.
* The AMATYC Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 11 - 15, 2009.
* The AMATYC Affiliate meeting, the MAA Section meeting or the NCTM Regional meeting for the Fellow's geographic area taking place between November 2008 and November 2009. The dates of these meetings vary and can be found at the following websites:
